Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Draft — pending review by counsel; not yet legal advice. This page is placeholder copy prepared for launch planning.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes prohibited and reasonable use of calling, business SMS, and online fax provided by Two Cans and Some String, Inc. (“TCSS”). It supplements our Terms of Service and applies to every account, extension, and line.

1. Purpose

TCSS built its pricing around one honest, all-in number because most customers use calling, texting, and fax the way a normal business does. This policy exists to keep the Service reliable and lawful for everyone, and to protect the carriers and numbers that make the Service possible.

2. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

  • Place unlawful robocalls, or calls in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) or Do-Not-Call rules;
  • Send unsolicited bulk or unregistered A2P text messages, or messages that violate CTIA guidelines or carrier 10DLC campaign requirements;
  • Engage in toll fraud, traffic pumping, call-spoofing to deceive or defraud, or unauthorized use of another party’s number or identity;
  • Transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or that infringes another party’s rights;
  • Send fax or SMS content that is fraudulent, deceptive, or that violates CAN-SPAM, TCPA, or applicable state law;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, underlying carrier networks, or other customers’ use; or
  • Resell the Service without a signed reseller agreement with TCSS.

3. Reasonable Use Policy (“Unlimited” Calling & Pooled Texting)

Unlimited US calling and pooled SMS allotments are sized for normal, human-paced business communication by the seats and lines on your plan. Reasonable use looks like a team of people calling and texting customers and each other throughout a business day. It does not look like continuous auto-dialing, one-way broadcast campaigns at volumes inconsistent with your registered 10DLC campaign, or messaging patterns that resemble a wholesale messaging operation rather than a single business. If usage is materially outside that pattern, we may reach out first — the goal is to get you on the right plan, not to penalize you.

4. Fax & SMS Compliance (10DLC, CAN-SPAM, TCPA)

Business text messaging in the US runs on carrier-registered 10DLC campaigns. TCSS handles brand and campaign registration on your behalf, but you remain responsible for the content of messages you send, obtaining any consent required to text or fax a recipient, and honoring opt-out requests promptly. Fax broadcasts must comply with the Junk Fax Prevention Act, including an established business relationship or prior consent and a compliant opt-out notice.

5. Security Responsibilities of the Customer

You are responsible for securing portal credentials, provisioned devices on your network, and any third-party SIP equipment you connect to the Service. Compromised credentials or devices used to commit toll fraud remain the customer’s financial responsibility except where TCSS determines its own systems were at fault.

6. Enforcement & Consequences

Violations of this AUP may result in a warning, rate limiting, required plan changes, suspension, or termination of the Service, depending on severity, and may be reported to law enforcement or carriers where appropriate. TCSS will attempt to notify you before taking action except where immediate action is needed to protect the network or other customers.

7. Reporting Abuse

To report suspected abuse of the Service, including spam calls or texts appearing to originate from a TCSS number, contact sales@tcss.io or 1-855-TCSS-INC.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated “last updated” date.
