The name
Why 'Two Cans and Some String'
Every kid figures it out eventually: two tin cans, a length of string, pulled tight between two hands — and suddenly you can hear your friend across the yard. No setup fee. No annual contract. No customer-service line to sit on hold with. Just a connection, doing exactly what it promised.
Somewhere between that backyard and the modern business phone bill, the industry added a lot of things nobody asked for: taxes buried below the fold, fees with names like "Regulatory Cost Recovery," multi-year contracts with early-termination penalties, and hold music standing in for actual support.
We're named after the string, on purpose. It's a reminder — to us, every day — that the job is to carry your voice clearly, honestly, and without anything extra tangled in the line.
